Dr. Carolyn Merry, professor emerita and former chair of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering, died in a car accident on June 3, 2014. A world-renowned scholar in remote sensing and geographic information systems, Merry retired last May after 25 years of distinguished service at The Ohio State University. She began her career with the College of Engineering in the fall of 1988 as an assistant professor, and became department chair in 2004.
Due to the strong supportive response from the local engineering community, we have organized this event both to honor Dr. Merry’s memory, and to promote her favorite cause – the students. At this event, 100% of the proceeds donated will go to the Carolyn J. Merry Engineering Scholarship Fund, established in 2009 to provide renewable scholarships to civil or environmental engineering undergraduates.
If you are not able to attend the event, please consider a donation to Carolyn J. Merry Engineering Scholarship Fund. If you have already donated to the fund, please feel free to attend the event.
